Palm Sunday.

I don't know about you, but when I think of Palm Sunday I think of palm branches being waved by children. Today in church my pastor brought alive a new meaning and way for me to think about Palm Sunday and the week leading up to Easter. Not that palm branches being waved by children is bad or anything. The title of his sermon was "Letting go of death to hold on to life", this week as a Christian I remember Jesus's ultimate sacrifice and death for us. Leading up to his unimaginable resurrection. Ben (my pastor) helped us think of Jesus's triumphful entry in a different context. Think about how Jesus was feeling as he was coming into the city on a donkey, knowing that in the week to come he was going to die. People were cheering, waving palm branches, singing praises.  Ben challenged us this week remember Jesus's death, and not to jump to conclusions-his resurection. Because think of how the disicples and those who were living it, they didn't know Jesus was going to rise again. For me that just puts this week at a whole other meaning. We will never know the pain Jesus suffered to die for US!! So I encourage you this week as we remember Jesus's just amazing love for us, to ponder that deeply. I know for me this week I am going to put myself in the disciples shoes and take in consideration how they felt. Just remember the amazing reality that Jesus loved us SOOOO much to die for US!! The biggest sacrifice is death, and Jesus did that for me and you!
Another thing that I found as a highlight today was my Sunday school lesson. One of the activites we did was rewrite John 3:16 in our own words. Then we shared our interpretations. I found Kate's to be pretty awesome, so I thought I would share it with you:
John 3:16 (Kate's Interpretation)
We mean so much to God that he gave up his Son's perfect life so that we could live our lives to the fullest with him, and not in pain.
Awesome Kate!
Lastly, the answer to my game 'Two Truths and a Lie' is.........................................#3. I really dislike blueberry ice cream. So that's the lie, and that means I did kiss a boy in preschool and I have been on the 5th tallest roller coaster in the world. It was called Millennium Force, and its at Cedar Point in Ohio. It was a blast! Good Job Alicia and Kiara!!

Emily, Have you ever read the book Vinegar Boy? Aunt Virgene's author friend, a woman in her 90's, has visited Virgene's 4th grade classroom several times after Virgene read her book to her students. I have a copy of the book and was very moved by the riveting story. Hope you can read it before Easter sometime. Eunice
